Solstice Chapter 19
As I neared the
fireball my outer
casing began to simmer and crackle and pop. Large fissures
and
vents
ripped across my surface as what little life essence I had left boiled
into steam and burst out here and there like little jets, twisting me
first
this way, then that...
There was
tangible
resistance as
I Plunged into the fireball. Abrasive
resistance,
friction.
Raw matter sanded and blasted across my fissures and vents, grabbing
hold
of them, tearing off sheets of me left and right, stripping me down to
delicate and tender parts....
Then even
those
began to heat up,
glow cherry red, melt...
I couldn't
find my
Voice, it was
tucked away somewhere... there but not there.
Then I burst
through the other side
of the fire ball. Some miles below me was the ground, rusty
red,
boulder strewn, craggy mountains and deep valleys, and it was coming up
to greet me. Rather Rapidly, actually *laughs*
I searched
within. There had
to be SOMETHING inside me that would get me outta this, some bit of
knowledge
or skill that could save me...
It Couldn't
end
like this...
My life
began to
flash before me.
Ancestral
and
genetic memories bubbled
forth...
...
And a square
masted vessel swam
into view, with a stout dragon carved on the prow and fully two dozen
scruffy,
furry, men and women manning the oars. The vessel climbed up
the
swells in the ocean, dove down into the trough beyond...
...
I latched
onto the
memory, embraced
it, became it...
I am Viking.
Instantly
there
was a bone jarring SNAP! and
I was suddenly swinging wildly about like a toy on the end of a
string.
I focused up and noticed a huge canopy hanging over me, billowing madly
in the winds. Ropes from the canopy led down to me... Below I
noticed
that the ground was much much closer, but it wasn't coming to greet me
quite so quickly now.
Then four
spidery
legs sprang into
view below me, as if they were a part of me...
And I began
to
fart *laughs*
And I Kept
farting! It just
kept coming and coming... steady, hard, Hot... for an eternity gas
blasted
from my sphincter...
And it felt
AWESOME! The Power
behind it was incredible. There was no forcing it, no change
in
volume
or density, no chunks, no wetness...
It was PURE,
CLEAN, PERFECT flatulence.
And then it
stopped, *snap* just
as suddenly as it started.
I felt my
spidery
legs settle firmly
into the sandy soil.
The Viking
had
landed.
When I
focused
again I noticed I
was on the ground... a dusty red plain strewn with boulders and what
Could've
been the remains of some ruins in the distance...
Something
seemed
oddly familiar
about my surroundings...
Just then
the
whole world went black.
