Lazy Feed 10

For a little over a year now I've been living alone in my own apartment.  However, my ex wife and daughter lived in the same building as me, so I've never been very far away from my daughter since her birth (she is four now)

This changed last weekend.  Mom and daughter moved out of my building into some other building a few miles away... and it's freeking me out a little bit.

The other night I went out to visit some friends and came home rather late... I don't go out very often but occasionally I find the time.  In the past I'd come home late at night to my apartment and still feel as if I'd come "home"... after all, my daughter was right there in the building 'with me'... if anything should happen or come up I was close by, etc.

The other night though, when I returned... well... it didn't feel like "home"...

Oh, it's the same apartment, it's still full of all of my stuff, NOTHING has changed down here...

The only change is that my daughter is not living in the same building anymore, she is some miles away...

I know that kids grow up and 'leave the nest' and that my daughter has NOT left the nest as she is with her mom...

but it Feels that way...  there is a distance between us.  And the distance is more than just physical...

And so far I'm not really wild about it.

mmph.

Subject To Change is the only rule that never changes.
