Lazy Feed Four

I think I'm a commie...  No, scratch that, I Am a commie.  Now I know that a lotta folks hear that word and the first thing that pops into their heads is "commie pinko bastard" and "the red menace" and "dictatorships" and all sorts of other terrible evil things, but communism isn't a political concept, it's an economic one.  America is actually full of communist economic policies, but most folks seem to be unaware of that or just ignore it.  Things like social security, welfare, student aid, veteran benefits, these are all commie pinko evil plots to undermine our oh so perfect country.  (ooo, the red menace is here!  Run for the hills!! *laughs*)

It seems to me that most people are obsessed with money.  They want More of it.  No matter how much they have, they still want More.  Kinda sad, actually.  Of all the things to be obsessive over, money is actually pretty worthless stuff, ya know?  Gold and silver and things like that?  Okay, I can see getting all goo goo over that, you can actually Do something with a nice shiny lump of metal or a sparkly gem stone...  But Money?  The stuff we all fight over and obsess over and stress over?  Unless you can find some bozo to exchange your "in god we trust" bits of paper for the stuff you Really Want then there's not really much you can do with it, ya know?  It doesn't burn well (I've tried), can't eat it or drink it... what's left?  Origami?  Paper mache?  Bah.

Don't get me wrong, wealth is nice, wealth is fun, but if you are not enough without it, if you are not happy enough, confident enough, secure in who you are without money, then you'll never be enough With it.  Money does not make a person.

Peace be the journey.
