Lazy Feed Three

It feels to me like people tend to lean towards (or are pushed into) extremes.  I also feel that, in general, extremes aren't too healthy.   Things get shoved into the Yes or No column, they become Black or White, On or Off, Cool or Dweeb...

The concept of Neutral has become melded with Wishy Washy, Flip Flopper, and Spineless... hardly "neutral" concepts.

And it seems to me that most folks here in the good ol' U.S. of A are completely unable, or unwilling, to embrace the concept of Duality.

It feels like most folks here hear the word "duality" and summon forth images of bi-polar schitzo psychopathic ax murders or, at best, some sort of dark and mysterious "secret identity".

The idea of two extremes joined in a healthy and homogenous marriage seems to be a hard one for folks here to dive into, and I don't get it.  Why is that so hard?  Redneck Hippy is not an oxymoron, nor is He-Man Girly-Boy.  I happen to be a redneck hippy he-man girly-boy, and whereas I am indeed mad as a hatter I am Not a bi-polar schitzo psychopathic ax murder.

For the most part I don't really care.  If this western society of people wants to run off of one of the extreme deep ends and drag themselves (and probably the whole freaking world) down to hell in a hand basket, hey, fine, more power to them.

But during election years I get kind of ticked about it.

Any candidate not in an extreme party (i.e. those people from the Freak Party) never get a chance, the well entrenched / well funded extreme parties tend to shut them down before they ever get out of the starting gate.

We are left with extreme choice A, and extreme choice B, which really isn't much of a choice...  There's no A sharp, no B flat.  We have exactly two notes to build this political symphony of a society with, and I don't know about anybody else, but I've never heard a two note melody that didn't make me want to become a bi-polar schitzo psychopathic ax murder after about half an elevator ride, ya know?
