I've always liked Bruce Lee.  His movies, his teachings, his philosophy, but I've never been fanatical about it, just really dug on the guy, ya know?  The other day I Netflixed Enter The Dragon...  I hadn't watched it since it was released in the theaters oh so many years ago now...  Like most DVDs these days there was a Special Features section, and in that section was an interview with Bruce.  I'd always been aware of this concept but never actually read it in print or heard the quote in context...  Seeing and hearing him say these words choked me up big time and I had a nice little cry on the sofa...  My four year old daughter joined me and told me everything was Okay...  She is, of course, correct.

"To me, ultimately, martial arts means honestly expressing yourself. Now, it is very difficult to do. It has always been very easy for me to put on a show and be cocky, and be flooded with a cocky feeling and feel pretty cool and all that. I can make all kinds of phoney things. Blinded by it. Or I can show some really fancy movement. But to experience oneself honestly, not lying to oneself, and to express myself honestly, now that, my friend, is very hard to do." - Bruce Lee-

So now the time has come, to do the very hard thing.  I've been avoiding it for some years now...

There was a time, ten years ago, when it was a very Easy thing, a very Natural thing...  but that was then and there, and this is here and now...

The past is forgotten.
The future is hoped for.
And NOW is the moment in which we are.

And it IS hard.  I can tell you the nutshell, the tip of the iceberg, that tiny summation that you have the patience for...  but that's not the meat, that massive block of hull wrenching ice, the totality of the Whole Tamale....

As the days tick by and my daughter grows older I've come to realize that there are more days behind me than before me, which is fine, but something isn't quite right... with me, with the universe... something... somewhere...

That too is fine, but I Have to do something...

“If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done.” -Bruce Lee-

So I'm not thinking... no, really *laughs* What?  You think this is Outlined?  Planned?  Edited? *rolls eyes*  Honestly, I can write Much better than this... perhaps some day some of the more stellar stuff will actually shine through, who knows?  Not today though... Today I just do.

“If you want to learn to swim jump into the water. On dry land no frame of mind is ever going to help you” -Bruce Lee-
