Cause and Effect

Why Write?

I like to write.  For the most part, I find writing to be a quiet, relaxing past time.  However, that is not always the case.  Right now, for example, as I sit here listening to the Monkeys blast out of the stereo while I mindlessly pound away on the keyboard, I can’t help but be reminded of the fact that this is not what I would choose write.  If the choice were mine, I would brainlessly babble about anything that crossed my mind.  I’d float from topic to topic without rhyme or reason, nor any care whatsoever about spelling, grammar, or punctuation.  I would probably pepper my page with those funky emotocons we’re not supposed to use, lavishing *grins* and *giggles* upon my readers and punctuating my points with a *heavy sigh* or the ever popular *rolls eyes*.  If I were writing for me I wouldn’t care what came out, how it read, or what anyone thought about it.  I would just write and have fun with it.  But right now I’m not writing for me.  I’m writing for somebody else.  Not because I want to, but because I have to.  I was instructed to write a paragraph depicting a cause and effect relationship and as a result of that this paragraph came into being.
