Lazy Timing
This is the sixth in the Lazy series. The others may or may
not still
be kicking around on craigslist. I would recommend reading
those as
well
or things might get confusing. If you can't find them, I have
them
archived on my site. Feel free to drop me a line and I'll
send you the
link.
*sip*
So I see now that it's all in the timing.
Post on the weekend near the 'dating hour' and people actually Do read
these things. Not only that, but the braver (or perhaps just
the more
intelligent) ones actually Reply! *tingles*
I received two replies to last nights Lazy. Can you believe
it?
Jazzed and Scared the hell outta me. *laughs*
The first reply was:
"We know you're not looking for a shoulder to cry on or a quick
lay.
So what is it you do want?"
Which is a good and legitimate question. I'm not sure I have
a good
answer to that, but I had to reply so this is what I said:
"I think what I want is to do what I did a long time ago...
Broadcast myself to a slice of the world and see what happens from
there...
Last time I did that I had an adventure that spanned four time zones
and resulted in a beautiful daughter.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring?"
*shrugs*
Of course, right after I sent that I received this response from
another person:
"Pretty funny stuff. Thanks for the chuckle."
And that's the answer right there. Not that I have any
intention or
desire to be 'funny' alla the time. But to bring something
into that
persons
life... That's why I'm here.
Let's face it, we are All here for the same reason and it Isn't a fast
lay or to boo hoo on a sympathetic shoulder. It's because
there is a
certain
'something' missing in our lives right now. A 'something'
that isn't
being fulfilled by our friends, family, jobs (or lack thereof)...
And so we are looking.
We all look in our own way. I look by writing
Lazies. It takes time
but it works for me.

One of the reasons I managed to do a ten year stint on a rock in Alaska
is that I like to travel. *grins* I know, that
sounds all wrong, huh?
Every summer somewhere around 600 people would show up on the island
from all over the world to do a tour of duty in one of the
canneries. Sure, they were mostly men, but there were some
women,
too. They were of all ages, and from all walks of
life. The majority
were from the lower 48 but a sizable percentage were from south of the
boarder and the Pacific Rim. Occasionally a few Europeans or
Australians would wander through.
It was nice. Travel in reverse. I met a lot of Good
People staying in
one spot like that.
So here I am again.... in one spot... letting people pass around me.
It takes a lot of time... but in the long run it is worth it.
Sorry this one ain't 'funny' *shrugs* I had fun writing it
though.
Good luck with your quests!
And, as always,
Rock on
